Real Madrid 5-2 Apoel Nicosia Match Highlights Video

Real Madrid cruised into the semi finals of the champions League beating Apoel Nicosia 8-2 on aggregate. Cristiano Ronaldo scored 2 with goals from Kaka, Callejon and Di Maria set up a semi final tie against Bayern Munich. The Germans were beaten finalists in 2010 when Jose Mourinho’s old club Inter Milan lifted the Champions League trophy.

Jose Mourinho has written off the chances of his other former club Chelsea beating Barcelona in the other semi final. The Portuguese manager feels it will be Barca v Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the final.

Real Madrid took there league goals tally to 100 this season from 30 games played blasting away Osasuna 5-1 away from home. Cristiano Ronaldo scored 2 taking his own tally to 37 league goals with Higuain scoring 2 and Benzema getting the other.

Real Madrid are still 6 points clear at the top as Barcelona beat Real Mallorca 2-0 away from home.

Apoel Nicosia 0-3 Real Madrid Highlights Video

Real Madrid have taken a commanding 3 goal advantage back to the Bernabeu but it took them 73 minutes to finally break down Apoel Nicosia. Karim Benzema opened the scoring heading home a Kaka cross. Real Mardrid extended that lead 9 minutes later after Marcelo managed to pull the ball back for Kaka to finish. The match and the quarter final tie was all but wrapped up when Benzema added a third on 89 minutes.

Jose Mouriniho’s Real Madrid are starting to show signs they can match the quality and style of Barcelona. Los Blancos battered Osasuna at the Bernabeu 7-1 to cement there place at the top of La Liga. A Cristiano Ronaldo hat trick plus 2 goals from Benzema and one each from Pepe and Higuain secured the points. Real Madrid sit at the summit 3 points clear of Barca after round 11 of La Liga. Next up for Real is Valencia on 20th November after the international round of fixtures.

Real Madrid Summer Signings

Los Blancos have carried on from where they left off last summer with more money spent on strengthening the team. A new coach has been installed in the shape of Jose Mourinho who won the Champions League with Inter Milan in the summer. Angel Di Maria, Pedro Leon, Sergio Canales, Sami Khedira and Ricardo Carvalho have been brought in to address the area’s Mourinho felt let Madrid down last season. There is also a high chance Werder Bremen’s Mesut Ozil will be added to that list shortly.

Although no marquee names like Ronaldo and Kaka last year, the Real Madrid team this season has more defensive options as well as more width going forward. Jose has weaved his magic everywhere he has been and now the biggest challenge of them all – turning these individual’s into a team.
